Nabil Bank successfully conducted Capacity Building of Local Health Workers to strengthen the local health system
Nabil Bank, in collaboration with Asian Preparedness Partnership (APP), the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (the foundation), National Disaster Risk Reduction Centre Nepal (NDRC), Chaudhary Foundation (CF), and Nepal Disaster Resilient Network (NDR Net), conducted a capacity building program of local health workers in all 7 Provinces of the country.
The program was designed to support local government, emergency health care system, and communities to strengthen their awareness by using government and WHO-published information, educational, and communication (IEC) materials. The program also focused on strengthening participants’ technical capacity on preparedness and response for health emergencies. Over 300 people from the health sector (from doctors, staff nurses to local health workers) actively participated in the program.
With the country facing natural calamities such as earthquakes, landslides, floods, thunderstorms, etc, our health workers need to be adequately prepared to handle the effects on the health system. Therefore, as part of its CSR Activity, Nabil Bank collaborated with various key players to conduct a workshop for healthworkers of the country with the aim of strengthening the local healthcare system.
