Nabil Bank contributes to the establishment of Maternity Hospital

Nabil Bank supported Sainik Shreemati Sangh, an organization working in Women Services, to establish a Maternity Hospital in Makwanpur, so that antenatal checkup services through qualified health workers are provided to pregnant women in the region.

In Nepal, 190 pregnant women out of 100k births die due to pregnancy complications and Infant Mortality Rate is 26.110 deaths per 1000 live births. Being a developing country, Nepal lacks access to basic maternal health care and health care professionals.

Considering the country’s poor Maternal Care infrastructure and the high mortality rates (of both infants and mothers), Nabil Bank has taken an initiative to promote maternal healthcare by contributing to the infrastructure. Through the Maternity Hospital, pregnant women in Makwanpur will be facilitated with early identification of any complications of pregnancy, prevention, and cure of complications at the appropriate time.
