Maternal Health Camp at Hupsikot and Kawasoti
According to the Government of Nepal, the child mortality rate under 5 years of age is 28 out of 1000. Reproductive and maternal health is considered extremely important when it comes to reducing the mortality rate amongst children. However, in Nepal, the awareness related to reproductive and maternal health remains low. According to the government of Nepal, the number of women who get their pregnancy checked at least four times during their pregnancy period is 77.8%.
After taking a hard look at the state of multipronged maternal health, Nabil Bank conducted a free health camp in Hupsikot and Kawasoti at Nawalpur. This camp was organized by partnering with Nepal Health Corps. Nepal Health Corps is an organization that is committed to supporting the implementation of the Universal Health Coverage in different districts, communities, or areas. The camp thus was organized at Hupsikot Rural Municipality and Kawasoti Municipality which provided free health services for 300 women of reproductive age. This camp provided health services related to uterus prolapsed, etc. Nabil Bank believes that such health camps will benefit women and children by helping to reduce the maternal mortality rate and child mortality rate.
