Financial Literacy Programs at Besisahar
The campaign was launched from Besisahar, Lamjung last week to coincide with the bank’s 33rd anniversary with 3 events: a Financial Literacy Awareness Rally, a Street Drama and a Talk Program by a successful local Small Business Entrepreneur. The programs were conducted in association with FINLIT Nepal. Mr. Amrit Raj Upreti, Besishahar Branch Manager of the Bank and Mr. Prakash Koirala of FINLIT Nepal lead these programs.
Mr. Youbraj Mainali, Chief District Officer of Lamjung inaugurated the rally participated by hundreds government officials including security personnel, social leaders, local residents and students displaying placards with banking awareness messages. The rally route was from Manange Chautara to Sera Chowk to Nabil Bank. Subsequently, the program continued with a humorous street drama with messages on how to maintain clean currency notes; developing banking habits, the benefit of saving in banks, controlling bad spending habits, using ATM cards, etc.
Later on, Mr. Man Mohan Adhikari, a successful local entrepreneur who received a loan from Nabil Bank and grew his business many fold in a few years shared his experience about the role and support of banks for growing business. The program was followed by an interaction program with invitees who provided a lot of helpful tips on financial discipline and use of bank loans to establish and expand small businesses.
